About

Sue McShane – Yoga Teacher

I have practiced yoga for nearly 20 years, on and off, moving away from it during busy times in life (when I probably needed it the most) but always returning to it.  Having tried many types of Yoga over the years, including Ashtanga, Bikram, Dru, Yin, Power, and Hatha, I found that I enjoy the more physical practices, like Vinyasa classes, however as I have gotten older, I have slowed down the pace a bit, breathing more slowly as we move. Still physical, just slower. I find that the flow of a vinyasa class is a moving meditation for me, and through the movement and the breath, I can connect to the last four limbs of yoga. I also enjoy Yin. It teaches me to be still and calm my mind, and while I struggle with both those things, it is SO good!

Deciding to become a Yoga Instructor, I chose to study to become a Personal Trainer first, so I could understand anatomy, movement and fitness principles before commencing yoga training. I am continuing this love of anatomy through further education with Yoga Medicine. These trainings allow me to help you with injuries through yoga. I am also a qualified rehab personal trainer, so I can help with modifications to have you return to yoga after a time away or after an injury.

My classes are fun, balanced and often include quirky functional movements, using therabands and other props. It is a passion of mine to keep us moving, and to keep us strong.

Fun fact-I am a summer girl, and love Stand Up Paddleboarding , the sun and travelling!
